SB Seating

With an Eton System with 40 workstations and 14 buffer zones, the chairmakers at SB Seating have increased the productivity with 25 % in their factory in Nässjö, Sweden. That means a reduction of time from order to delivery from 4 days to 3 days and a total of 12 700 hours saved per year in handling and operations. SB Seating calculated an ROI, return of investment (of the Eton System) in 1,5 years. With the Eton System, chairs are now delivered to each workstation in a pre-set sequence. This has positive effects on management control over processes. And more importantly, increasing quality on all levels of production.

Due to the high improvements in efficiency and saving of space, SB Seating also managed two move production from another factory to the factory in Nässjö. Further improving their production chain.

SB Seating also saw a great improvement in reduced absence from work. Fewer work injuries and work-related pains from monotonous movements were another positive effect.

Why the Eton System?

In the factory, SB Seating performed sewing and assembly operations. Chairs from SB Seating are made to order which leads to low abilities to keep inventory on finished products. Before the Eton System, the Swedish furniture manufacturer had a much more manual production system. Materials were transported with forklifts and trolleys in pallets and bundles. The company aimed to reduce the time from order to delivery by a more effective production chain. Eton Systems did the work that SB Seating was looking for.

A short time after the first installation SB Seating took a second step and increased the Eton System. The production process was so much faster than two production sites now could be transformed into one.

The quality of the production chain has improved with the Eton System. The different chair components are now being delivered in sequence, to the right place at the right time.
