About the Project

Microfactories System Innovation runs from 2024 to 2028 with the goal of developing circular business models with local production and efficient reuse concepts. The project is led by Science Park Borås together with Automation Region, Mälardalen University, Eton Systems, and iHubs Sweden. It is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Västra Götaland Region, and the Västmanland Region.

The project aims to create groundbreaking collaboration between the textile and automation industries to develop microfactory concepts for sustainable, flexible, and resilient solutions. Through activities including the application of new technologies in industrial processes, the sharing of best practices, and targeted communication, we strive to achieve a model-forming cooperation that drives system innovation.

The project is expected to result in increased understanding that will enable a more resilient and competitive Swedish industry. Microfactories System Innovation is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.

Efficiency is everything. The Eton System has helped filter, garment, home textile, automotive and furniture producers worldwide to minimize defects, reduce cost of quality and save factory space for more than 60 years.
